Institute of Child Psychology

Accessibility and Accommodations

The Institute of Child Psychology is committed to providing professional learning opportunities that are accessible to participants with disabilities and to providing reasonable and appropriate accommodations in accordance with applicable accessibility and human rights laws. This includes accommodations related to physical, visual, auditory, and other legally recognized disabilities.

Depending on the course format and available technology, accessibility supports may include:

  • Closed captions on pre-recorded videos. Our pre-recorded video content includes closed captioning to support participants who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or who benefit from text-based access to course content. Where feasible, captions are reviewed for accuracy.
  • Written transcripts on request. Transcripts may be provided for pre-recorded course videos to support participants who are Deaf or hard of hearing, use screen readers, have processing or learning needs, or benefit from reviewing written course content at their own pace.
  • Digital copies of slides and handouts. Where available, digital course materials may be provided so participants can enlarge content, use assistive technology, or follow along separately from the video presentation.
  • Additional time for quizzes or assessments. Where technically possible, participants who require additional time for timed quizzes or assessments may request an adjustment.
  • Flexible pacing. Pre-recorded course content can be paused, rewound, replayed, and completed at the participant’s own pace, allowing learners greater flexibility in how they engage with course material.

If you have an accessibility-related question or require an accommodation to participate in one of our professional courses, please contact us at support@instituteofchildpsychology.com.

Accommodation requests will be reviewed individually, and ICP will work with participants to determine what reasonable supports can be provided within the format and technology used for the program.

We encourage participants to contact us prior to registration or as early as possible so that available options can be discussed.
